(A Home for mentally challenged kids)

Adopt a Child Taking care of a mentally disabled child is very hard and demanding. It is all the more challenging when the child is from a poor family. Such children require special care and attention for their overall development. However, their families are not trained to take proper care of them and it is beyond their means to give them the special attention they deserve. To make matters worse, competent facilities aimed at their well-being and special educational needs of such mentally challenged children in those rural settings are practically non-existent. These children are hence typically left behind without any essential life skills or self-esteem.

Prerana is a humble effort to help poor, needy families having children with special needs. Their aim is provide these special children with a safe and secure environment conducive to develop their self–esteem as well as equip these kids with essential life and social skills so that they can take care of themselves.

ICON is teaming up with Prerana to support its noble cause. Currently, Prerana helps around 70 kids of varying mental capabilities and ages. It cost them around $200 to support one child per year.

We are looking for kind hearted families to adopt a child for a year or part of the year.
