DOSTI³ (Dream of School through Inform, Involve, Inspire) is a community development project, aimed at providing quality education to financially backward children. The project provides financial assistance to these underprivileged children as well as helps fund the target schools where these children are likely to attend. DOSTI³ 2008 is the first pilot program for the DOSTI³ project. As part of the pilot project, we provided financial assistance for 51 students from poor families to attend school and enhanced the school library. The distribution and inauguration of the library was done by Rev. Zakariah rembachan, Idukki on July 12th at MGM school, Chettukuzhy.

In spite of the reluctance of Kuriakose Rembachen to become an Episcopa, H.H. Moran Mar Baselios Geevarghese II, the then Catholicos saw the need of the services of Kuriakose Rembachen as an Episcopa and was able to convince Rembachen to step up to the need. On February 16, 1929 H.H. Moran Mar Baselios Geevarghese II, along with Vattaseril thirumeni and Mar Ivanios thiurmeni consecrated Kuriakose Rembachen as an Episcopa.

Malankara Sabha Maha Sammelanam was held on November 16, 2008 at the St.Thomas Nagar, Mar Baselios College Grounds, Kottayam and saw one of the biggest gatherings of the church loving orthodox Christians. The Rally was led by H.H, and was attended by bishops, bishop elects, clergy, students from Kottayam seminary, sisters from various institutions and people from each diocese (in alphabetical order). The speakers used the podium to crush false propaganda and myths that are spread by various groups and societies and used the occasion to educate the faithful of the true interpretations.

The Malankara Syrian Christian Association 2008 was held on September 11, 2008 at Pampakuda under the leadership of His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Didymus I Catholicos. Seven bishop designates were elected by the association. Yeldo Remban, Fr. Mathew Baby, Fr. John Panicker, Fr. Markose Joseph, Christophoros Remban, Fr. Stephen OIC and Fr. Alex Daniel were elected for the post of Episcopas. H.G. Thomas Mar Makarios Thirumeni passed away on Feb 23rd 2008 after a tragic car accident in January 2008. He was a great visionary and exemplary shepherd of the Holy Church. The founder Metropolitan of the American Diocese, Thirumeni had endeared himself to the younger generation of the Dioceses in the West. Aided by the experience of being a professor in the Alma College, Michigan, this father could connect with the young people admirably. The Holy Church mourns at the loss of its High Priest. May our good Lord grant peace to his soul.

Vallikattu Dayara, Vakathanam, Kottayam is blessed to be the resting place of two of the fathers of our church: HH Baselios Geevargheese I, the second Catholicos of Malankara and HG Augen Mar Dionysius, Metropolitan of Idukki Diocese.
The Dayara was founded by Pulikottil Joseph Mar Dionysios in 1868 It was developed as a dayara in 1875 by Ramban Geevarghese Karuchira. His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Mathews I, Catholicos renovated the Vallikattu Dayara in 1982. It is one of the declared pilgrim centers of the Malankara Orthodox Church.
