Siny Vidyodayam Award

Sponsored by

Family & friends of Late Mrs. Siny Binu, Abu Dhabi

The seeds of this award were sown by Siny's family & friends. Born into a family from the teaching fraternity on 13 Dec 1977, Siny was a young spirited girl who excelled in studies and other activities. On 18 Nov 2001, she got married to Binu P John whose family had a background similar to that of Siny's. As a couple they settled in Abu Dhabi, UAE. While away from their families in India, they connected to several people in Abu Dhabi so closely that later the friends' circle was akin to family. Siny & Binu raised their children-Varsha & George with their hearts closely tied to the Church, giving them all they had. It was at a point in their life when they were enjoying the Lord's blessings, that Siny was diagnosed with cancer. Not one to give up on anything, Siny faced the illness with the determination of a warrior as she leaned on the Christ for strength. From her bed, she mentored her children, ensuring that Varsha continued to study beside her, despite the pain within her. 37 years she lived on this earth; it is our prayer that she lives for many more years in the hearts & minds of people, through Siny Vidyodayam Award-through which several children from financially disadvantaged families will be provided educational assistance.

Just when we thought we wouldn't see her smile again, SINY (See I Need You)-the acronym-that stems off Siny's name was born. Through this, we continue to experience Siny's loving nature and generous heart. A guest to her home would never return without having a cup of tea or enjoying a meal with much chatter. A career, a mother, a friend, a wife, a homemaker-she was- all rolled into one.
