H.G. Augen Mar Dionysius thirumeni was a great spiritual leader of the
Malankara Indian Orthodox Church. He was born on July 1 1955 as the son of Mr. Mathai Kurian and Mrs. Saramma Kurian.
He was a brilliant student and completed his theological studies in 1980 and passed out as the best outgoing student. He was ordained as a deacon on May 21 1979

Makarios Thirumeni who passed away on Feb 23rd 2008 after a tragic car accident in January 2008 was a great visionary and exemplary shepherd of the
Holy Church. The founder Metropolitan of the American Diocese, Thirumeni had endeared himself to the younger generation of the Dioceses in the West. Aided by the experience of being
a professor in the Alma College, Michigan, this father could connect with the young people admirably. The Holy Church is in mourning
at the loss of its High Priest. May our good Lord grant peace to his soul. We, the ICON family, join the Holy Church in conveying our heart felt condolences.
